Who We Are

Welcome to the Journey of Faith / Skate Church! We are a group of local Christ-Followers in West Seattle who are “making a difference in our community” in Jesus! We are actively involved in making disciples and you probably have seen us baptizing down at Alki Beach this summer! We are involved in our local schools, in community centers, who work here (just check out the local QFC!) and help in EVERY WAY to make a positive, CHRISTIAN impact on West Seattle. As a church, we gather together on Sunday nights to worship Jesus, hear teaching from the Word of God, and meet new people.

Journey of Faith

The Journey of Faith is the “adult church” that was actually started 3 years ago by The Skate Church youth group…. Yes, it makes MORE SENSE that God would start a church with adults, however, God is pretty extravagant and sometimes doesn’t do what we would THINK He ought to do! The Skate Church

“Skate Church” is the youth group of the Journey of Faith Church. We meet every Wednesday night, 6:00-8:30pm at our headquarters 1 block north of the West Seattle Junction (4157 California Avenue SW). It is Middle School – High School (College age meet on Sunday nights at the Journey of Faith). Are we all “skaters”? NO! Do we skate? YES! We have a SKATE ROOM & VIDEO ROOM in our headquarters for Skate Church members (must have signed parent permission to use the Skate Room and the ramps, rails, grindboxes)… COME CHECK IT OUT! > Learn More

Our Staff

All JOF/Skatechurch/TORN staff and leaders are volunteers – there are no paid staff members. Before a leader may be given any authority, they must be screened by the Washington State Patrol, have worked with the JOF leadership team for a minimum of six months and follow Church safety guidelines, and must have proven by their lifestyles to be committed to following Christ.

Serena Wastman

Senior Pastor
The Journey of Faith & Skate Church ministry is headed up by Serena Wastman. Although the current church paradigm would call her, “Senior Pastor”, she is actually one of many pastors at The Journey/Skate Church — there are many! Serena oversees all the ministries, but they are managed by others — she is simply the one who serves the most!

Krystal Moulton

Art & Beauty
Krystal is in charge of all that makes this Journey of Faith lovely. She is an artist, a worship leader, a warrior of God. She assists bringing beauty to our Journey Worship.

Kristina Johnson

Skate Church Internship Program
Kristina is a 2010 intern who assist in the management of the Skate Church Internship Program. She is currently being mentored into Senior level leadership & ministry and plans to plant and lead a church in the near future!

Amanda Parker

SCNET Youth Leader – WS Junction Campus
Mandy is one of our strongest pastors and focuses her time, energy and heart on pastoring the girls at the Skate Church youth ministry.

Chris Redman

SCNET Youth Leader – WS Junction Campus
Chris is our lead Youth Pastor for Middle School guys. He is also one of our BEST skateboarders!

Colin Fraizer

SCNET Youth Leader – Roxhill Campus
Colin heads up our “Roxhill Campus” Skate Church team — to launch this September 2010!! He is also the captain of the guys Skate Church Discipleship House!

Jovan Wiggins

SCNET Youth Leader – WS Junction Campus
Jovan is a 2010 Skate Church Intern and is one of our our key MC Pastors on the West Seattle Junction team of Skate Church!

Omar Woeltz

SCNET Youth Leader – Roxhill Campus
Omar is one of our 2010 Skate Church Interns assisting with the Roxhill campus of Skate Church. He is an incredible drummer, guitarist and LOVES THE LORD JESUS!

Kelly Bowman

SCNET Youth Leader – WS Junction Campus
Kelly is part of our Middle School team of youth leaders in the Junction team. She loves Jesus, ultimate Frisbee and Skate Church!
